BACKGROUND OF THE SCHOOL

Oriwo Boys High School is within Kandiege education zone in Rachuonyo North Sub – county, Homabay County, in the Lake Region of the Republic of Kenya. The school was started in the year 1968. It was initially run as a harambee school until 1974 when the Government took over the running of the school. The school has had 5 principals since 1974. The school has a policy of formulation consisting of a board of Management ( BOM ), Parents and Teachers Association ( PTA) and student Governing Council. (SGC)

The community and parents have continued supporting the school, which has seen it to grow from 4 streams in the year 2008, to the 7 stream in 2016 as one of the steady County schools within the region, it has ever been always under pressure to admit students more than its  capacity calling for regular adjustment of its infrastructure.
